For those of you that torch hunt on foot and are always thinking of ways to mount them, as chance would have it I was in the local camping store and they had ledlenser torch bicycle mounts for sale. 12 bucks and right there in front of me so I bought one to see if it would work as a rifle mount. It works perfectly.. 12 bucks is small country town price so i'd imagine they can be sourced a lot cheaper and probably cheaper than their gun mount.

Also, since switching to eley subsonic 22LR ammo I've had several oppurtunities to test them on game and compare to the CCI subs that I'd been using for so long. The 40 grain eley sure deliver the goods. Where the CCI would completely pass through a rabbit or hare,  the Eley don't exit so it seems they are expanding really well and transferring all their energy into the animal in the shortest amount of time.. exactly what you want in a sub.

Here's some victims from the wee hours of this morning.. some big bopper bunnies and what looks like the mother of the march hare i shot the other night. The grass is so high now (above the waist.. don't think about snakes) that torch hunting on foot is getting like shotgunning during the day. You gotta just about step on something before it breaks and hope it stops or slows down enough to get the shot before it's out of sight.

Top fun but Cheesy

Thanks Marlin, but the results are still inconclusive, so I'm heading back there in about 1/2 an hour just to make sure  Wink

Good shooting BB.

I bought 4 of the cheap nylon torch mounts from DealExtreme for $1.70US each. I lent one to a mate of mine and he loved it, so I told him he could keep it.

I have used them to mount a torch to my Hornet and to my 12 gauge.

It sure is.

Have a look on the Deal Extreme web site. I think it is one of their top selling items.

Nah Steve. Don't feel that way. The Wolfeyes torch is a top notch piece of kit.

Mind you I have a EDI-T P4-250 torch which is very strong and cost me $65 on ebay. I mount that with one of the nylon DX mounts, I mentioned above and it winds up being a pretty sweet little set up.

With that setup on my Ruger last week I nailed a roo between the eyes at 60yards free hand. The only problem was it was in a pumpkin field and we couldn't find the bugger in the dark. I shot it and then another a little later at the other end of the field. When we went back we couldn't find the roo in among the pumpkin plants. My mate said he'd go back out the next day and retrieve it.

I saw the review on the Wolfeyes torch. I haven't read it yet, but will pull out the mag and read it now.
