I read with interest the old post of the 45 cal air rifle. I thought there might be others like me, intrigued by this phenomenon. There is a true Artisan by the name of Gary L. Barnes in America, who is a custom air rifle manufacturer. Gary's PCP's are a work of art, and when you investigate his site, the amount of infomation available is staggering.

One of his creations is the Chief Justice 87 cal smooth bore PCP, capable of deploying packaged shot, as well as single projectiles.

Unfortunately I can't load a photo, as this site won't load his format. Well worth a look. Unfortunately Gary has suffered ill health, and had to stop taking orders in 2007. When he re-opened his book in Dec 2009, it was closed in 5 weeks due to the number of orders. Gary runs a deposit and payment plan over 36 months to help pay for his unique creations. Probably amongst the best custom made PCP's, but with a price to match.  Shocked

Visit the Grid, if you want a ballistics education, as the infomation available is enormous.

I'd love to take a deer and be able to boast it was taken with an air rifle. Tell me what you think of his site.

Steve,
I thought you said you were out of the new gun market???
You couldn't start at a higher end of the market for a PCP.

Unfortunately being a one man band, Gary's output is low, so the chances of us ever holding one is low.
Pity
